BRITISH FLORALS

Of all the botanical books published in England during the 18th and 19th Centuries, The Botanic Garden and The Complete Florist were perhaps the most charming.

The Complete Florist was published in 1747. The original black and white engravings had descriptions on the coloration and methods of cultivation. The plates were often hand colored.

First published in 1835, The Botanic Garden was the definitive work of flowering ornamental plants. Many of them, wildflowers that had been brought home from far-flung colonies and cultivated in British gardens.

We have reproduced the original engravings in full color. They may be framed as is or as many of our clients prefer, each sheet may be broken apart and framed as miniatures.
